‘Man In Me’ comes from the mind of Nashville’s Madi Diaz, who has recently announced her signing to ANTI- Records. Her sound is stripped back and subtle, allowing her voice to take centre stage against a minimalistic accompaniment. Towards the end of ‘Man In Me’, the texture swells and Diaz is able to show off the true power of her vocal, which is flecked with emotional passion. “’Man In Me’ was the first song I sat down to record for myself in about six years, which is the reason I thought it was so important to release first,” she explains. “It’s a very intimately visceral moment, a sort of play-by-play inner monologue, taking my first steps through a really hard time.” Look out for more from Diaz as she restarts her music career in style. -Dan Peeke
